TRSC Collaborates with ZEISS to Host Thailand’s First “SMILE Pro Hyperopia Training,” Advancing Small-Incision Treatment for Congenital Hyperopia Bangkok, Thailand – February 22, 2026 – TRSC International Eye and Vision Center, in collaboration with ZEISS, a global leader in medical technology, successfully hosted the SMILE Pro Hyperopia Training, marking the first training program in Thailand focused on the use of SMILE Pro technology for small-incision treatment of congenital hyperopia (farsightedness).
The training was led by Dr. Isara Sukvanich, Chief Executive Officer of TRSC International Eye and Vision Center, together with Dr. Ekate Chansue, Medical Director, and a team of leading subspecialty ophthalmologists from TRSC. Participating specialists included Dr. Pichit Naripthaphan, Dr. Chonthicha Jarumalai, Dr. Patchima Chantrenet, Emeritus Prof. Dr. Sabong Sriwananboon, Dr. Pawika Thammano, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Warinthorn Chakrapaiwong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shareenan Chirapaipaisan, Dr. Methinee Jongcharoen, and Dr. Aranicha Sriwanich.
The program featured an intensive hands-on wet lab surgical simulation, providing participants with practical experience in the latest techniques for treating hyperopia using the SMILE Pro platform. The training was conducted by Mr. Ralph Rafa, Regional Application Manager – Refractive Lasers, Asia Pacific, from ZEISS, who traveled to Thailand to deliver expert instruction and share advanced clinical insights with participating ophthalmologists.
This milestone training represents a significant advancement for refractive surgery in Thailand, as it introduces the application of SMILE Pro technology for the treatment of hyperopia through a minimally invasive small-incision approach. The initiative reflects TRSC’s ongoing commitment to advancing ophthalmic innovation and delivering world-class vision correction technologies to patients in Thailand and across the region.
