Corneal Flap

A corneal flap is created by either a microkeratome (LASIK) or a femtosecond laser (FemtoLASIK). In both LASIK and FemtoLASIK procedures, an excimer reshapes the cornea after the flap is opened. The flap is then placed back into its original position.
